This entry or formulation may be investigational and may not correspond to an FDA-approved product; safety and efficacy may not have been established. Kairo lists it for identification and record-keeping only.
Overview
Product & regulatory status
Research compound; acute responses do not establish chronic treatment benefit.
Secretagogue action
Hexarelin belongs to the GHRP family; researchers studied pituitary and peripheral responses. Those actions need separate clinical evaluation. [1]
What the evidence shows
Hormone-response experiment
In seven young adult volunteers, hexarelin produced a GH response and also increased prolactin, ACTH, and cortisol. Its activity was not limited to GH. [2]
Cardiac physiology study
A small acute study examined people with normal health, GH deficiency, or dilated cardiomyopathy. Some groups showed an increase in ejection fraction, but the cardiomyopathy group did not. [1]
What remains unknown
These short experiments cannot establish better long-term heart outcomes, muscle gains, or a safe ongoing use pattern.
Safety
Broader endocrine effects
Changes in prolactin and stress-axis hormones complicate the idea of a purely selective GH boost. The small study was not designed to exclude uncommon or delayed adverse effects. [2]
Research administration
These studies used intravenous research exposure. They cannot establish equivalence to subcutaneous products or consumer cycling practices. [2]
Understanding product quality
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved finished products. Poor preparation can cause contamination or incorrect strength. A catalog entry or a research paper is not a quality assessment of your product. [3]
When to seek urgent help
Severe allergic symptoms such as trouble breathing, throat or tongue swelling, or fainting need immediate help. Call 911 or your local emergency number. This is general emergency information, not a complete list of risks for this compound. [4]
A starting point for discussion
This is not a complete list of adverse effects or interactions. Your health history, other medicines, and the exact formulation matter. Missing safety data is not evidence of safety.
Common questions
Does an acute cardiac measurement show that it treats heart disease?
No. A brief change in a physiological measurement is not the same as fewer hospitalizations, improved survival, or sustained function.
Questions for your clinician
Does the evidence match my condition and this exact product? What risks or interactions matter for me? How would we assess whether it is helping?
