This entry or formulation may be investigational and may not correspond to an FDA-approved product; safety and efficacy may not have been established. Kairo lists it for identification and record-keeping only.
Overview
Product & regulatory status
The cited work does not establish a human longevity treatment.
Proposed biological target
Investigators have examined expression of telomerase, the enzyme that can maintain chromosome-end telomeres. A change in this pathway is a laboratory finding, not a clinical anti-aging outcome. [1]
What the evidence shows
Small human biomarker study
A small placebo-controlled human study measured melatonin-related biomarkers after sublingual AEDG. It did not establish insomnia treatment or report safety data. [2]
Telomerase in cultured cells
A 2003 experiment reported telomerase activation and telomere elongation in cultured human fetal fibroblasts. Human cells in a dish are not a trial in people. [1]
Newer work adds complexity
A 2025 cell-line study reported telomere changes in normal cells and cancer cells through different pathways. These observations do not prove longer or healthier human life. [3]
What remains unknown
Whether these cellular effects translate into useful outcomes in people, and their long-term consequences, remain uncertain.
Safety
Telomere effects are not a safety certificate
The newer experiment also studied cancer cell lines. This does not show that Epithalon causes cancer, but it makes a blanket claim that telomere lengthening is always beneficial inappropriate. [3]
Synthetic peptide versus tissue extract
The telomerase experiment evaluated a synthetic tetrapeptide in cultured cells. Its laboratory preparation does not provide validated storage, stability, or preparation instructions for a human-use product. [1]
Understanding product quality
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved finished products. Poor preparation can cause contamination or incorrect strength. A catalog entry or a research paper is not a quality assessment of your product. [4]
When to seek urgent help
Severe allergic symptoms such as trouble breathing, throat or tongue swelling, or fainting need immediate help. Call 911 or your local emergency number. This is general emergency information, not a complete list of risks for this compound. [5]
A starting point for discussion
This is not a complete list of adverse effects or interactions. Your health history, other medicines, and the exact formulation matter. Missing safety data is not evidence of safety.
Common questions
Is it the same compound as Epitalon (nightly)?
The spelling refers to the same peptide. Kairo retains separate catalog names for existing logs; the nightly label is not evidence of a validated sleep regimen.
Questions for your clinician
Does the evidence match my condition and this exact product? What risks or interactions matter for me? How would we assess whether it is helping?
