Missed a dose? Start with the exact product

The safe next step depends on the medicine, its formulation, and how long it has been. A calendar reminder is not a catch-up dosing instruction.

Find the facts first

Check the label on your prescription. Note the last dose actually taken, the missed scheduled date, and the next scheduled date. If you are unsure whether you already took a dose, ask your pharmacist or prescriber before taking another.

Use the instructions for your medicine

Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound do not all share the same missed-dose instructions. Oral and injectable products can differ too. Open the current prescribing information below and look for “Recommendations Regarding Missed Dose” or ask your pharmacist to walk you through it.

Several missed doses or a changed prescription

Contact your prescriber for a restart plan. Do not use a medication curve, another person’s schedule, or a milligram conversion between products to decide your next dose.

Keep the record honest

Leave the missed day unlogged. When you next take a dose according to your care plan, record its actual time. If an entry was made by mistake, edit or delete it rather than adding a second entry to cancel it out.
