Overview

Product & regulatory status

The evidence here concerns specific fatigue-related conditions, not a validated general productivity aid.

What the evidence shows

Placebo comparison in neurasthenia

A randomized blinded study reported improvement in asthenic symptoms relative to placebo. The accessible abstract provides limited quantitative detail, so it should not be treated as a precise estimate of benefit for everyone with fatigue. [1]

Healthy-volunteer tasks

Another study evaluated laboratory performance in healthy volunteers under mental fatigue. Such task outcomes are narrower than sustained improvement in daily function or treatment of a medical cause of fatigue. [2]

What remains unknown

Independent replication, modern diagnostic applicability, long-term safety, and interactions with psychiatric medications require further evidence.

Safety

Short follow-up cannot exclude dependence

The neurasthenia study included brief observation after stopping treatment. An absence of withdrawal in that setting is not proof that dependence or other problems are impossible with other exposures. [1]

Different delivery methods need their own evidence

The cited Ladasten studies cannot establish equivalence for newly marketed sprays or other preparations with different delivery characteristics. [2]

Understanding product quality

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved finished products. Poor preparation can cause contamination or incorrect strength. A catalog entry or a research paper is not a quality assessment of your product. [3]

When to seek urgent help

Severe allergic symptoms such as trouble breathing, throat or tongue swelling, or fainting need immediate help. Call 911 or your local emergency number. This is general emergency information, not a complete list of risks for this compound. [4]

A starting point for discussion

This is not a complete list of adverse effects or interactions. Your health history, other medicines, and the exact formulation matter. Missing safety data is not evidence of safety.

Common questions

Can fatigue be treated without finding its cause?

These studies do not answer that. Persistent fatigue can require clinical assessment; the reported study population should not be treated as equivalent to every person with low energy.

Questions for your clinician

Does the evidence match my condition and this exact product? What risks or interactions matter for me? How would we assess whether it is helping?
